Transition and Change

Greetings all,

As of September 1st, I will be stepping down as SVA's Executive
Director. I have been provided with an excellent opportunity to work
full time at the American Council on Education, working on some
extremely forward thinking initiatives they are putting forth
regarding veterans in higher education.

As some of you know, I have been with SVA since the very beginning and
I feel very privileged to have been a part of this phenomenal
movement. Watching student veterans organize themselves around the
country has been extremely motivational and inspiring to me. I am
fortunate to have been surrounded by such bright, ambitious, selfless
veterans.

In my place, a fantastic individual will be filling in as interim
Executive Director. Nathaniel Donnelly, whom many of you may already
know, will be shifting gears from Western Regional Director to the
Executive Director position.

Additionally, John Powers, Northeast Regional Director, will be
transitioning into a new role as Director of Outreach for SVA. As
Director of Outreach, John will be focusing on growing our membership
and providing our members with much needed resources and information
to ensure that veterans succeed in higher education.

Both Nathaniel and John will be replaced by new Regional Directors for
their respective regions in the near future.

Again--it's been a pleasure (and a wild and crazy 8 months), and I
look forward to seeing what great things SVA will accomplish this
coming semester!
