Hello,
I'm trying to sniff sdch compressed traffic.
i'm using wireshark and chrome and i'm searching some query at google.com.
i can see the request and transfer of the dictionary but the sniffed traffic are not compressed with sdch, only gzip.
can anyone tell ne why?
google servers do not compress with sdch?
THanks,
Shimrit

Hi Shimrit,

Was that an initial interaction when you sniffed? If it is an initial interaction the response returned by the server does NOT use SDCH encoding, since the use agent does not have a dictionary.
The server simply provides the locations of the dictionaries for the future use. The user agent may choose to retrieve one or both dictionaries separately.

Sree

Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
It was not initial interaction, i saw the dictionary, but after the client got the dictionary, the server didn't compress with it the following packets.

Hmm... that is strange.  If it is not the initial interaction and there are directories then the content should be compressed.  Can I see the HTTP headers?
