A good presentation for the sports minded. If you haven't read Boys in the Boat you will after you go to this presentation. It's a book in the same ilk as Born to Run.

John Biglow will bring his experience and unique perspective as he discusses the book “Boys in the Boat”.

John began rowing in 1972 on Lake Washington and was coached by Frank Cunningham at the Lakeside School. He has rowed all boats from a 1x to an 8+. John rowed at Yale for Buzz Congram and Tony Johnson as part of the varsity 8+ in 1978 and 1979. That crew won the Eastern Sprints. John also had the good fortune to row with the national team in a 4+ coached by Pete Gardner, as well as a 4x and 1x coached by Harry Parker. As a result of this coaching John has enjoyed success at the World Championships placing 3rd in the 1x in 1981 and 1982 as well as having the privilege to represent the US at the 1984 Olympics. His pursuit to join the Olympic team is portrayed in David Halberstam’s The Amateurs.

Sunday the 26th at 2:30 in Lenox HS Duffin Theatre. Tickets are only $15 and benefit youth rowing.
