From the Telegraph of 17 Oct 2020: HENN Brigadier Francis (Frank) Robert Henn CBE died peacefully at home in Epwell on 15th October 2020, aged 99. Beloved husband to the late Monica and adored father of Frances, father-in-law to George and grandpa to Zara and Richard. Small family funeral (due to Covid restrictions).

He was s of Col William Francis HENN CBE MVO (1892-1964), sometime head of that Irish gentry family, and Geraldine Frances Jane STACPOLE-MAHON (1889-1981) scion of the MAHON Irish gentry family of Corbally. He m 1957 Monica Traill (1920-2010) d of Brig Charles Cooper RUSSELL MC (1922-97) of London, and had a dau as above, Frances J HENN (b 1959) m 1985 George (b 1955) son of Richard Everard WINGFIELD DIGBY MC (1918-94), of that gentry family of Sherborne Castle and Coleshill, and Bridget Lucy Vinicombe (b 1927, dau of Hugh M CLOWES of Overbury Court, Alton, Hants, formerly of The Grange, Somerton, Somerset). A Wingfield ancestor married LADY CHARLOTTE MARIA DIGBY (d 1807) dau and, in her issue, sole heiress of 1st Earl DIGBY (now represented in the peerage by the Barons DIGBY).

...Francis Robert Henn was born in Cairo where his father, Colonel William Henn, was the commander of the Egyptian Police. His mother, Geraldine Stacpoole-Mahon, was the granddaughter of Baron Inchiquin. He was educated at Aldenham and commissioned from Sandhurst into the Gloucestershire Regiment in 1939. He was with the 5th Battalion in France and Belgium before evacuation through Dunkirk. After the war he was transferred to the 11th Hussars and deployed to Malaya during the communist insurgency.... He met Monica Russell when she was working with the British High Commission in Singapore and they married in 1957. She predeceased him and he is survived by their daughter, Frances, married to George Wingfield Digby, a financial director....
