_. Garry Lacon Jock Ropner, late Lieut, Welsh Guards, who died 28 March, 2015, aged 77, was a scion of the Ropner Baronets, of Preston Hall (Bt, UK, cr 1904)

He was born 7 Oct, 1937, second son of Sir Robert Ropner, Knt, a director of the famioly ship owning business, by his 1st wife the former Dorothy Beecroft Sheila Lacon, dau of Sir Edmund Lacon, 5th Baronet; married 1stly, 20 Mar, 1962 (div 1973), Antonia Colville, a scion of the Viscounts Colville of Culross; married 2ndly, 1974, Mrs Julie Marie Swanwick; married 3rdly, 1987, Mrs Marie-Louise (Sally) Raynar, dau of Arthur Southcombe Brook. He is survived by his 3rd wife, and a daughter from the first marriage, Emma Louise, who was born in 1963.
