How does everyone attach the shower curtain in their head forward P40s? Do I even need a shower curtain? We've yet to use the shower in our boat, so I don't know how messy it gets.

I just replaced the shower valve with a (hopefully) non leaking one, and a Gulper IC to replace the sump box with a seized pump, so we now have a functioning shower!

Good question. I've always wondered how the TP was kept dry up there. Eager for responses.

I finally installed a bendable aluminum track with rollers. It takes two curtains that roll back behind the toilet for storage. Sail rite sells the track & rollers. Works with minimal mess.

Hmmm.  We just jump in pull the stall shower curtain closed.  Never have gotten the TP or Any thing wet except us and the shower stall walls.  It must be a P40 thing...

I've never had a shower curtain. I'm a big guy; the head is small enough
as it is. I do quickly wipe the place down with a hand towel afterwards.
The TP stays in a little 1-roll-sized compartment with its own little
door and stays dry. Miraculous.

Hi all,
On Iemanja, we installed a ceiling flexible curtain track and shower curtain back in 2013. Easy to put up and easy to use. We live on board half of each year and find the curtain arrangement a good way to keep things in cabinets dry (incl toilet paper). Ours is from Curtain-Tracks.com out of TX. We patterned a shape, built a box to mold the flexible track to that shape, then hung it.

I sewed 2 nylon curtains together (fast drying). We left the open edge right where the faucet controls are located; with about 10 inch overlap of the track and curtain to keep water spray in. And we store the curtain in a basket behind the head door still connected to the track when it's dry.  And flip it out the hatch, all still connected to the track, when it's wet.

We have 6100 curtain track, 6131 end caps, 6111 track carriers, 6151 ceiling cartridges, and recmar 7142 curtain hooks.

I partially squeezed down the hooks to hang onto the curtain yet left open enough to remove the curtain for washing.

You should look over what they carry for products or other similar companies product's, but we're very happy with our choice. It's white and blends in with the ceiling. We maximized the size it covers on the ceiling as much as possible.
Use a chamois or chamwow after showers to remove steamy moisture from low portion of the walls and water from the floor.

We've been thinking about the curtain track, but we have the area around the light, and across the back of the hatch to run the track to protect the door. Perhaps water on the door is okay? I really like the idea of throwing the curtain outside to dry.

I made an enclosure under the hatch with ss  ‘hooks’ and bungee cord. The shower curtain was attached when needed. That served for five years and 20k miles cruising. I’m now on curtain #4. I kept the TP in a plastic bag inside its little compartment, so no experience with wet TP.

We have a P41 with forward head. I use the shower often, the shower curtains as setup work great. They are both on cords that stretch across to hooks on either side of the head aft. To engage you just grab each loose end loop and hook it aft then slide the curtains forward. There is no cover for the door area but does not seem to be a big deal. There is a little push button slider on the cord that you cinch up when you stow the curtains which keeps them pulled forward behind the head when not in use, simple and effective. Many times I don't even bother to pull the curtains aft, especially if there are no towels or clothes hanging on the starboard coat hooks. I just rinse and then wipe things off. It's pretty simple and works better then expected. I will see if I can find a few photos of the setup.

Hi Rob, et al,
The track fits between the door and the hatch framework so the door and mirror are protected. Scoot the curtain (it slides easily) out of the way to open the door. The track also goes inboard the overhead light; looks like you have the same layout as we have. It's a bendable track so we bent it outward directly over the sink between light and bulkhead by a few inches. The track also goes further forward than the hatch opening in order to maximize the area inside the curtain.

We used clear plastic sheeting taped to the ceiling and drew our desired shape onto it.
We then laid that plastic sheet on a table and bent the track with warm heat gun to the desired shape. Use picks or wood blocks to hold the track in place as you bend the entire shape and to let it all cool. It really wasn't hard to do.

I wish I had a photo but I looked in all my project flash drives and we're not near the boat until November.

Here are some photos of what our shower curtain setup looks like (as described below). No fixed tracks just a cord that is hooked to act as the shower curtain guide so very few holes to drill. Tucks away nicely and is super easy to setup.
