SESSIONS:

PHnw is excited to announce that we will be welcoming Jonathan Arnold as one of our keynote speakers!  His firm is currently building one of the worlds largest Passive House buildings, a 276 unit multifamily development in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.  Jonathan is responsible for strategy, corporate vision and capital structure at the Arnold Development Group, a full service real estate development firm and certified B-Corporation specializing in mixed-use urban infill developments. He holds a degree in architecture from Cornell University and a masters degree in real estate development from Columbia University.

Meeting the Carbon Challenge with Climate Specific Passive Building Standards for Large Buildings  Katrin Klingenberg, Passive House Institute US. presentation will focus on the potential of accurate, cost optimized climate specific design guidelines to dial in the energy efficiency of the building envelope for large-scale buildings.

Post-Occupancy Research at the North Park Passive House Christy Love, RDH Building Sciences.  The North Park Passive House, a 6-unit strata project located in Victoria BC, was occupied in September 2015. It is the first market strata-title certified Passive House development in Canada.  While well-established elsewhere, the potential benefits of Passive House and other low energy design approaches are not as well understood in Canada, and there are limited data on the actual performance of low energy residential buildings in various Canadian climates.  To address this gap, RDH is undertaking detailed quantitative and qualitative performance measurement of the North Park Passive House. The intent of this research is to develop a comprehensive case study for a Passive House project in the coastal BC climate.

20 year regional power plan Tom Eckman, Northwest Power Planning Coucil director.

PHPP 9 and WUFI Passive Workshops Dylan Lamar and Graham Wright   See the workshops
