consultant has strong and recent JSF 2.0 and Primefaces (and versions)
experience and get them the test if they have good communication
skills.
The Senior Applications Developer is responsible for all
aspects of the application development life cycle and for managing all details
related to an assigned project. This includes participating in team-oriented
design and development, interacting with the user community to determine needs,
writing technical specifications and documentation, developing, maintaining, and
testing required software, and managing tasks to an established time line.
The application developer is responsible for writing
custom software and integrating off the shelf software to support student
systems. The student systems currently include the Student Information System
(SIS), web site applications, financial aid system and integration with third
party and partner systems. The Student Information System (SIS) is the
enterprise-wide administrative system that supports the day-to-day business of
the College through its repository of customer data including prospects,
students, exam takers, and alumni. The major system modules include Personal
Core Information, Admissions, Academics, Records, Correspondence, Batch,
Activity, Fiscal, Exams/Courses, and Workflow. The system is a JEE
application built using Java servlets, JSP, JSF, JDBC, HTML, JavaScript, PL/SQL,
Oracle Reports, and SQL. The web site applications use the same
technology as the Student Information System. The PowerFAIDS financial aid
system is tightly integrated with the SIS. The SIS and web site applications
are also integrated with various internal systems including the courseware
management system and with numerous external partner systems.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Analyze complex business processes and define
application requirements.
Write technical specifications and
documentation.
Prepare accurate time estimates for projects and manages tasks
to meet deadlines.
Perform object oriented analysis and design.
Develop,
maintain, and test web based applications.
Support existing applications as
needed.
Attend professional conferences and training courses as
required.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
To

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work
experience.
At least five years of software development experience in an
object oriented environment.
Solid understanding of object-oriented
development and design.
Working knowledge of web based software
development.
Hands on experience with integrated development environments
tools such as Eclipse.
Experience developing applications in a business
environment.
Oracle database experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal
skills with experience working in a team environment.
Excellent
organizational and decision making skills including the demonstrated ability to
manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while providing quality customer
service and products.
Demonstrated ability to learn new
technology.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated
troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Flexibility to work alternate
shifts on an as needed basis.
