Interview: video and F2F or just F2F for local candidates: There will be a F2F interview after successful video interview (no phone or video hires, MUST do F2F)
Position Summary
The BI Developer is for the support of new and existing business intelligence software and processes, addressing defects and enhancements as assigned. The BI Developer will at time do analysis and design and be responsible for creating technical documents. The BI Developer will design, create and unit testing of application components and user interfaces and deploy code.
Developer:
With some assistance, translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications utilizing flow charting tools to document system flows.
Develop new or revise basic ETL projects or reports that are maintainable, supportable, performant and aligned with business specifications.
Document basic use cases and develop test plans to validate business logic.
Address production support break-fix tasks in a timely manner keeping IT management and clients informed of status and resolutions.
General:
All new or revised work and production support will be performed with the goal of zero defects.
With general assistance, identify root cause and resolve production problems as assigned.
Manage assigned tasks and report actual hours.
Communicate variances and/or obstacles in estimates or delivery dates to management i
Understand functional and technical specification phases of the Project Life Cycle and perform specific tasks as appropriate.
With general guidance, prepare all required documentation following approved Life Cycle standards.
Demonstrate flexibility in providing after hour support on projects and conversions when needed.
Specific Job Knowledge
5 or more recent years of experience designing, developing / coding, and testing BI solution with the Microsoft BI stack: SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
General working knowledge of analysis and design principles, coding/testing techniques and programming languages and tools.
Overall knowledge of BI application systems and infrastructure.
Knowledge of development and test environments and configuration processes.
BI Specific Job Knowledge
Toolsets: Microsoft BI Stack – SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
Application Tools: SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio 2008, Team Foundation Server, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Visio, PowerPoint, Access)
Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, and other that may include Unidata, Progress, DB2, Teradata
Languages: T-SQL, XML
