Summary:
has been selected by our client to recruit for a technical writer to join a Madison, WI based organization. This role would part of an internal communications team contributing to the execution of technical communication for various audiences within the organization. Members of the Internal Communications team write, revise, edit, and format corporate and department supporting technical documentation about tools, processes, and programs for a variety of audiences. They also reorganize, reformat, and repurpose content to incorporate compliance and audit requirements. This role will manage a variety of assignments and will need to be able to complete tasks autonomously and as part of a team.
 
Responsibilities:
Required Skills and Experience:
Knowledge equivalent to the completion of a bachelor’s degree, with formal education in English, grammar, technical writing, or other writing.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
An eye for consistency with strong attention to detail.
Strong customer service and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply standards and strategies when drafting and editing documentation. Flexibility to adapt to and contribute to new and improved team standards and strategies.
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and adjusting to shifting priorities.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand complex systems and processes and translate technical information to address a specific audience.
Demonstrated ability to give and receive helpful ideas and peer reviews.
Demonstrated ability to interview subject matter experts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word.
 
Qualifications:
Desired Skills and Experience:
1 year of professional experience working in a business environment with technical writing responsibilities.
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and screen capture software (e.g., SnagIt)
