New School and District IDs - database changes

If you recall, the DOE changed all the school and district codes for
the 17-18 school year.
http://maine.gov/doe/data/infrastructure/index.html

We just received notification that IC has been asked to change the
numbers in our hosted IC database next week.

Have any other schools already gone through the conversion process?

Just got notice last night as well. Now to see how it impacts things... We were hoping to general our library patrons... will be interesting to see if kids fall into the right buckets.

I'm just going to sit here with my fingers crossed until I can see whatever

they do...

I am concerned that some few of my students magically have had their

old start status codes converted, and most haven't.

But kids I rolled over with 02 who morphed into 1835?

Weird.

Our uploads to our automated calling system filters students by school
number, so we'll have to change all those extracts. We have all kinds
of custom ad-hocs that use the school codes. Who knows how many other
systems rely on them. I think our food service system does
(Nutrikids). We are having to accelerate our review of systems,
queries, and custom reports.
If it has to happen, it has to happen. But the timing (second week of
school when we are super busy) is terrible.

We got new school codes last night...

It broke our Transfinder sync, which will be easy enough to fix.

At this point, I haven't heard screams from anyone else.

Can you point me where I need to look, other than Calendar/calendar,

where I now have a parenthetic single digit "School ID" code after each

original school number...

And do I need to do anything, once I find them?

Pick a school

Look at "State School Number" field

In the database: SELECT number, name FROM School

If you need to remember what your old codes were - you may need to look in your sandbox, but that will only work until your next sandbox referesh!

And School Messenger has the old numbers hard-coded into their PHP programs (at least they do for us).

Good information. ShoutPoint must have the school number embedded too because it is not working. I cannot see any setting in DE where I can change the school codes
