When a Special Ed student turns 18, should their parents continue to be marked as a guardian in IC?
As I understand it, the parents are technically NOT the guardian anymore. The issue we are having is that our special education department is supposed to only send paperwork to the student once they turn 18 unless there is legal documentation that the parents have obtained guardianship.
Do other districts uncheck the Guardian Flag once a student (Special Ed or not) turns 18? And if so - what else (aside form SpEd forms), might this affect?
