Thanks all for your replies. My version of Windows 7 (Home Premium) does not support Virtual PC

I'm sure I read in some earlier replies that there was a 64 bit version available, but the link would not work.
Any other comments?

Cheers

If you mentioned earlier that you were using a 64-bit version of Windows 7 I must have missed that message.

I run Idealist 3 (32-bit) under both Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) and Starter without problems. No Virtual PC or even compatibility mode.

If you’ve having problems with the 64-bit system, how about running the Idealist installer and then I32.exe in compatibility mode (Windows XP, 2000 or 98, whatever works)? That may do the trick. I’ve never heard of a 64-bit version: even the 32-bit version was quite a late arrival.

John

John

I run the 32 bit version 3.0 on my netbook which only has Windows 7 Starter. I think yo may need to look at the compatibility settings to ensure that Idealist will run as though it were on a previous version of Windows.

Hi John,

Do you have access to another PC that runs XP or 32bit Windows 7? If
so, I suggest you install the software on that and simply copy-paste
the Bekon folder into the program files folder of your 64 bit machine
and run it. Should work - that's pretty much what I did when I
installed it under virtual PC and transfered the files onto the main
system.

Best,
Nikos
