What is the current state of Google Feed API?

We all know Google Feed API is deprecated, and if you don't, you likely found out the hard way when it was taken offline. However, it has mysteriously come back online. For all of us working frantically to replace Google Feed API with another solution, it would be most appreciated to get an official announcement from Google as to how long the Feed API will remain up.

Nice question. Google, please comment the situation with the Feed API!
Moderator of this forum branch doesn't know exact information: 2 days ago he said that Feed API is dead. But now everything is working!
Webmasters need exact info!

The Feed API will cease operations on Sep 29th, 2016.
