The American Left and its Pathological Love of Russia
Bad habits indeed die hard, and sometimes do not die at all.
Those of us who read the Radical Left media on a routine basis will have noticed that there has been great consternation over Trump’s election and the Russian connection.
On the one hand there is the hatred of the Clintons and what they call “Neo-Liberalism,” and then there is their anxiety over the prospect of a Trump presidency. The Radical Left continues to remain silent on their role in helping Trump get elected.
And then there is the even more pressing issue of Russia’s involvement in the leaking of damaging information that exclusively targeted Liberals, Clinton-supporters, and the Democratic Party more generally.
We must hand it to the Far Left Radicals who do not at all see their own hypocrisy.
The following post from Truthdig is yet another example of the problem:
http://www.truthdig.com/avbooth/item/cia_whistleblower_john_kiriakou_critiques_the_cias_20161216
Here we have an interview with a CIA whistleblower who sees the revelations of Russian hacking as a “red herring.”
This is of course consistent with the ongoing obeisance that the Far Left pays to Moscow and its dictator oligarch. More than this it implicitly seeks to defend Julian Assange and WikiLeaks and the role played by that organization as a useful idiot in the successful attempt to swing the election for Trump.
The Left is now in complete disarray, but, true to form, will never admit error.
The Anti-Zionists Love David Friedman
In addition to their support of Russian hacks and WikiLeaks, the Radical Left also has some interesting ideas on Trump’s choice for Israel Ambassador:
Phil Weiss expresses thoughts that I have already seen coming from hardcore Anti-Zionists which applaud the Friedman ambassadorship because it is opposed by Liberal Zionists, in addition to the fact that it is believed to lay bare the true face of Zionism.
This argument shows little if any sense of compromise on the Israel issue as it marks all Zionists as being Settlers and hypocrites. It is a Machiavellian strategy that has all the earmarks of PILPUL.
Once again we see how Left Wing and Right Wing extremists are coming together under the Trump umbrella, as their viewpoints begin to merge.
I suppose that as the two groups agree on the nature of the problem that they will come closer to an apocalyptic type of confrontation that each side believes that it will win.
But as we have repeatedly seen, the Far Left is in for a truly brutal awakening as it has absolutely no political capital and no influence in our institutional system. Signing petitions is not the same as holding public office.
Ivanka Trump: First Lady
There have been reports indicating that Mrs. Kushner will be occupying the First Lady’s office after Inauguration Day:
It is thus quite interesting to note the brouhaha over a tweet written by Politico writer Julia Ioffe who was fired for her frankness:
I suppose that it is okay for Trump to say outlandish things, but not for others to do the same when it applies to him. It is a double standard that will become part of the New Fascist landscape in America.
To be honest, I was actually hoping that Saturday Night Live would do a sketch on the matter of Trump incest, which would have led the New Duce to a Twitter explosion of unheard-of excess.
But the skit never materialized, and I suppose all we have is Ms. Ioffe’s sarcastic tweet.
We will of course recall Mr. Trump’s reputed comments about his daughter’s “fantastic” anatomy:
Trump has not only been on record boastfully speaking about grabbing women by their privates, but has made creepy remarks about his daughter as he sexually harassed other women.
As Mel Brooks once said, it is good to be the King.
Steve Bannon: Hip-Hop Genius
I suppose that it was bound to happen: we now have a connection between Alt-Right racist guru Steve Bannon and Hip-Hop:
Though the article does not choose to discuss the irony of the connection, it is clear that Hip-Hop is in a bad way these days as its racist undertones are now coming home to roost.
I am now wondering if Bannon was present at the meeting between Trump and Kanye.
It would appear that he would have had much to contribute to such a meeting.
