   Just wanted to let you know that we're hiring for an analytics person with a particular focus on outbound marketing for a civic technology project. An ideal candidate would have a combination of experience in data science, data operations, etc. ideally within an outbound marketing context, and have experience or a strong interest in the civic technology space. Our client is a government agency that is changing the ways citizens interact with governement.

The Role: As a Civic Analytics Program Director you will tap into your experience and talents to help design and direct programs that transform the ways that government interacts with citizens. You will work with teams that include both internal and external members, and will range from marketers to data scientists and software engineers. You will need to be comfortable stepping into established systems, finding opportunities to improve efficiency, and communicate comfortably with stakeholders of varying degrees of technical knowledge. You likely enjoy solving puzzles, working with others, playing with data, learning, and helping others understand complicated concepts. You’ll be joining a team of energetic problem solvers who love collaborating and using math to make the world a better place.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Working with clients to develop programs that utilize the latest methods in data science.
    • Overseeing analytics components of multichannel targeted outreach program that utilizes channels such as email, SMS, calls, and mail.
    • Gaining detailed level understanding of the data generated by the outreach program and communicating that information to high-level stakeholders.
    • Overseeing and coordinating a team of strategists, developers, data scientists, and others to apply solutions.
    • Trouble-shooting problems as they arise and being continually agile with implementing solutions.
    • Providing data analysis to address clients’ challenges.
    • Creating and delivering presentations and trainings that clearly and effectively communicate BlueLabs’ work and outcomes.
    • Communicating information between clients and internal technical teams.
    • Developing new and innovative ways to employ BlueLabs’ technology and analytics products to an ever-growing array of challenges and situations.
    • Overseeing multiple projects and identifying priorities to ensure timely and successful completion of projects.

YOU PROBABLY HAVE:

    • A bachelor’s degree in economics, math, statistics, physics, political science, or another major with strong quantitative emphasis.
    • Consulted for government, overseen civic engagement programs, or overseen a national citizen engagement and/or outreach program.
    • Very strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for building relationships.
    • Very strong organizational and/or project management skills Used tools such as SQL, R, Stata, SAS, Python, and Excel to manipulate and analyze large data sets and create reports.
    • Strong writing skills; an ability to explain complex concepts and processes in everyday language; strong visual communications and presentation skills.
    • A knack for finding elegant, creative, and cost-effective analytic solutions to complex problems.
    • Built and managed long-term relationships.
    • Taught something technical to a non-technical audience.
    • Successfully managed staff.
    • The spirit of a self-starter.

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE:

    • Worked on high volume targeted outreach campaign for an organization such as government, e-commerce, consumer finance, or a political campaign.
    • Measured outcomes of outgoing targeted communications such as email, SMS, push notifications, mail, or phone calls.
    • Worked closely with content teams to measure the impacts of content changes.
    • Experience working in client-facing jobs.
    • A strong network of contacts in one or more areas of client development including politics, non-profits, corporate, and government.
    • Knowledge of relational database languages, programming languages, and version tracking tools.
