Blake, whoever you are, thank you for taking the initiative to create a moderated cryonics forum. It is sorrily needed and I, for one, have been refraining from posting on NewCryonet because of all the bickering.

The value of such a forum of course depends very much on who does the moderating. You tell us that there are two moderators. I understand any concerns you may have about privacy, but given the prominent role you intend to play in this forum, can we have an inkling of who you are? Can you for instance tell us about you and your co-moderator's educational and professional backgrounds, and any links you may have with cryonics organizations?

Regards,
Daniel Crevier

Hello Daniel,
You're welcome! Thanks for the thanks.

You bring up a good point, the moderation in a discussion list is only as good as the skill and discretion of the moderator(s). I'll tell you up front, I don't know if I have any exceptional qualifications for moderating! I'd like to add other moderators over time, both to spread the workload and as importantly to provide backup in case I'm ever unable perform the task anymore. Having available extra moderator opinions would be a good thing too, especially for borderline content. I guess two people is a good start.

You asked for an introduction, which I'll supply in a separate thread. I'm making another thread because I imagine that some other people might want to introduce themselves as well.
Look for the "introduction" thread.

Warm regards,
Blake
