CSA Facebook Group

[Gerlan Bach CSA]

I'm just wondering if there would be any interest in a Facebook group? I suppose it would be similar to what this Google group offers but would maybe offer more immediate answers. I'm part of a few really wonderful online communities through Facebook and I find them fantastic for connecting with like minded people in that particular part of life! Personally, I would really love to have a similar group for those of us in the CSA 'world'. My husband and I are just in the process of starting up our CSA and we have endless questions that arise every day. It would be brilliant to have a (hopefully really active) place that we could go to pick the brains of the wise people that are ahead of us in our journey. :) I also find it much easier on Facebook to share interesting articles and events and things. I would be happy to set one up if others think that it could be useful :)

There is a fb page  https://www.facebook.com/CSANetworkUK/  but no fb group for the Network.

I'd agree with you that they are rather more engaging and interactive than the format of Google Groups. Let's see if there is a demand for this.

Thanks for the offer to set one up; whatever we decide to do, let's keep the CSA Network UK brand clear and well integrated with the rest of the Network's online presence.

Have you found the Market Gardening Success group yet? That's a really good one. Theres lots of people so there's always new stuff... And lots of people posting in their first csa season, or posting questions about what to do with their members and such.

We'd be happy to set up a Facebook group if anyone is interested.

I have thought about doing it before - the only reason I haven't is because I have to set it up as an individual rather than an organisation due to the way FB works - and everyone would have to join as individuals as well.

I do think it would be a lot more interactive than the Google group if lots of people signed up.

I like the new facebook group, Maresa.

For people to interact it is excellent, while this Google group is, in theory, a better place for more techie conversations, topics, discussion threads, etc.

You might like to customise the address as www.facebook.com/groups/174431052974421/ is rather impersonal. Try this helpful site https://www.facebook.com/help/206871819351594 on how to change the address and add, for instance, CSANetworkUK, instead of the code.

I'll join and suggest it to others. Rob.
