Hello

The CSA Network is putting in an Awards for All bid so that we can run a subsidised mentoring project. Currently we would need to charge at least £200 per day the cost of travel and the mentor's time. But previous surveys have indicated not all CSAs would be able to afford this.

We also plan to produce guidelines online and printed on some of the things CSAs have been asking for over the last year e.g. sample health & safety policies, sample member agreements, food hygiene guidelines, tips for doing crowd funding, etc.

It would help our bid if we had a bit more evidence that this project was needed so it would be great if you post here if you would find mentoring or written guidelines useful, and any more details eg what info you think we should include and how much you would be willing to pay for a day's mentoring for another CSA farm.

Thanks
Maresa

All sounds useful for the early years, We took advantage of mentoring funds with FCFCG. They paid the mentor £50 for a couple of hours & the mentee got travel costs. Generally I charge £140 a day if I do advisory for FCFCG. Mentoring was the most useful thing for us setting up. I don't think we would need it any more as i now have a regular group of growers i chat with. Crowd funding, we've just done pretty well at, food hygiene would definitely be useful for us, but in fact I got a great response just by mailing out to the CSA network last week. For new CSA's I think the mentoring is most essential. Hope thats useful.
