Hello Friends and Family,
It’s been a long road and it looks like it is going to happen. WE will leave Monday May 30th for Minneapolis, MN. We need to be there by June 1st so we both can rest from the trip. WE will spend two nights on the road so john can rest from driving for it is a long ways to go. What happened to Denver? The insurance that I have isn’t good at that hospital. They thought it might be however just recently they tried again with no luck with Medicare. WE might be gone 4-6 weeks and this is up to my healing and how fast I heal with learning to use the Argus. I’ve talked to other people lately and found a lot more about the Argus. It is another way of seeing. No details however you can learn to see the doors, windows, people moving, cars moving, things on counters and your food plate and many more things It isn’t a detailed picture it is flashing lights and so on.
WE want to thank you who have helped in one way or another for without you this would of just been a dream. It will be a lifelong adventure and that is for sure! I’m going into this with both eyes open and not expecting too much for it isn’t what most people think. There is great improvements which I might not see until January with the glasses I ware and the computer unit that I carry. To say I’m not nervous would be a lie. Excited? Not sure thankful? OH yes! Blessing? That is without saying. I knew if the Lord brought it to me he would see me through it and he has so far.
We will want a party when I get back and know what I’m doing with this unit. So look forward to seeing an invitation. We hope the word gets out to the blind community so they can learn and maybe go get one themselves. I really want to start a Foundation for this so people who want to get this Argus implant can and not have to go through all we have had to. Getting money, getting records, getting test and mapping things out so we know where we are going.

The only restrictions will be not to go swimming at first and to rest and walk. Most people don’t even have pain afterwards.
