Mirrors

[Bill]

The mirrors in our Oceanis 44 have been deteriorating over time, especially in the forward head.
The mirror effect is wearing off around the edges.
Anybody have this problem?
Is it repairable or do they have to be replaced?

I had the same issue.  No fix to my knowledge 

In my case I had new plexiglass mirror made.  No worry of breakage

I believe you can take it to a shop and have them stripped and resilvered.  It is interesting to watch if you have the chance.

I replaced the round mirror in the head of our 331 and used the opportunity to make it about 2" larger (short Admiral). A local glass shop charged us about $ 30.00 for a new piece of mirror.

We're also having the issue with the edges of the cabinet doors in each head area. In these cases the mirror is glued to a wooden door. See attached.
