I have a 2001, 361, the gel coat is crazing.
Is this a common problem?

What areas are most affected? I haven't noticed anything on my 2002 361 however I am in the Great Lakes with short season.
I would check with B to see what they recommend.

Beneteau said no warranty on 14 year old boat.
Crazing is progressing and currently on many parts of deck not hull.
Contacting gel coat specialists.

Crazing I always thought was a result of the fiberglass flexing from stress. You must first fix the stress and movement. Then repair the gelcoat.

My 12 year old 36.7 has lots of crazing but we have put her through the paces both inshore/offshore racing and cruising.

We own a 1995 oc321 hull 001 which has gelcoat crazing/cracking on the foredeck and cabin top.

Had assumed the cracking was just in the gelcoat. To our surprise it is a BIG (cost) problem. Just had the boat surveyed in anticipation of selling Latitudes. The survey found the cabin top to be saturated. The gelcoat cracking also involved the fiberglass beneath. This allow water to get to the balsa core. The cabin top has minimal traffic as does the foredeck. We have no delamination on the foredeck only the cabin top aft of the mast.

Cost to repair $6,000. Area delaminated is ~2x3 feet.

Issue is not structural.
