Oceanis 40 2007

I hope someone here can help me. I have bought an early version of this yacht. The builders certificate says 1.7m draft. The pre purchase survey shows 1.55m and the owner thought it was 1.9m.

Without lifting out to remeasure does anyone know

1 Did Beneteau actually build any with 1.7m draft? (5' 7")

2 Is there any way to get a definite answer on my boats draft? (I don't want to go swimming either as it's really cold!)

Ps I have a PDF of the owners manual for a later version with sail drive if anyone needs it. If anyone has the release version I'd appreciate a copy.

The boat was apparently available with both a 1.55m shallow draft and 1.9m "standard" draft. See this link:

Did not see any mention of a 1.7m draft.

You could contact Beneteau USA with your hull number to get a definite answer.

If it is a US build boat call Beneteau US ask for Todd or Ward give them the hull number and serial number that is on your hull they are usually on the starboard side very close to the stern of the boat.

Benetaue usually can tell you about your boat if they are given this number.

As it is a unique reference to the boat I could ask a Ben dealer here in Italy to enquire through their connections the exact production data.
