Meetings and Hearings

Thursday, March 26th

BRA Meeting - 375-399 Chestnut Hill Ave

Where: Hamilton School, 198 Strathmore Rd

When: 6:30 - 8:30 PM

What: Proposal for 162 hotel units and 92 active senior residential units with mixed used on the ground level, includes 188 parking spaces - please be advised parking will be very limited

 

Monday, March 30th

Skating Club of Boston BRA Meeting

Where: Skating Club of Boston, 1240 Soldiers Field Rd

When: 6:30 - 8:30 PM

What: The Skating Club of Boston is proposing the construction of its new home at 176 Lincoln Street in Allston.  The new facility will be approximately 165,000 square feet and will feature three ice rinks.  The new facility will allow the Club to meet the demand for its core mission to provide ice skating education and programming, both competitively and recreationally.

 

Tuesday, March 31st

City of Boston Olympic Bid Allston-Brighton Meeting

Where: Harvard Business School, Burden Hall

When: 6:30 PM

What: Join Mayor Marty Walsh and the Boston 2024 team to hear about the Olympic bid process, what it means for neighborhood and any other questions/concerns you may have.  Burden Hall is located off Western Ave; parking available free of charge.

 

Wednesday, April 1st

Faneuil Branch Programming Study Community Meeting

Where: Faneuil Branch Library, 419 Faneuil St

When: 6 PM
What: Participate in the programming study phase for the Faneuil Branch library.  Listen to the project architects (Tappe) and give them your feedback.

 

Thursday, April 2nd

Brighton-Allston Improvement Association

Where: Brighton Elks Lodge, 326 Washington St

When: 7 PM

What: The BAIA is a community group dedicated to the betterment of the Brighton/Allston neighborhood.

Climate Change Conference: Snowpocalypse? Climate Change, Extreme Weather and Our Legal Response

Where: BU Law Auditorium, 765 Commonwealth Ave

When: 2:30 - 5:30 PM

What: "Six of the ten snowiest winters on record in Boston occurred in the last 25 years. As the city digs out from this year's historic snowfall, the time has come to ask whether the increasing frequency of severe weather is linked to climate change and, if so, what that means for coastal cities like Boston. Leading climate and weather scientist Dr. Kerry Emanuel, of MIT, will join us at the BU School of Law to talk about the link between climate change and extreme weather on March 27. His comments will be followed by a panel discussion on international and domestic policy responses and, later, a networking reception. Please join us!"

Gallery 224: "Life, or Something Like It" - Christopher Adams

Where: Harvard Ceramics Studio, 224 Western Ave

What: Reception for new exhibit that presents an expansive homage to exploration of organic form in a full-gallery installation of over 1000 pieces.  This exhibition will coincide with the National Conference on Education for the Ceramic Arts in Providence, RI and will be featured on the Boston Bus Tour of Exhibitions.

Father John Misty

What: project of folk guru, Josh Tillman, psych-folk father John Misty is returning to Paradise Rock Club with a fully outfitted band, complete with a mini string quartet and plenty of signature witty banter.
