Harvard University and the Allston Civic Association (ACA) Executive Committee are now accepting applications for 2017 Fall Allston Brighton Community Scholars Scholarship Program.

Allston-Brighton residents—who are at least 18 years old—are eligible to apply for scholarships for any one, 4-credit course at the Harvard Extension School for noncredit, undergraduate, or graduate credit. In addition to an application, each applicant is required to submit a one-page personal statement describing his or her involvement in the Allston-Brighton community. Applications and personal statements are due on Friday, August 4.

Recipients are selected by the ACA scholarship committee through an anonymous application process, and will be notified in mid-August. Scholarships cover the cost of tuition for one course for the fall 2017 semester; recipients will be responsible for the $50 registration fee as well as any materials or transportation costs.

Harvard provides scholarships for a range of educational, athletic and enrichment programs for Allston-Brighton residents of all ages.

  • Attend a training session in August (date to be determined)
 Benefits:
  • Earn a stipend for participation!

Clerk (6:00am-9:00pm) (hiring one w/ $180.00 stipend)

  • Maintains the Clerk’s Book, fills out forms, records the names and addresses of all challenged and provisional voters.

  • The Clerk works under the direct supervision of the Warden and assists Warden with general election duties.
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the Warden in the Warden’s absence.
Inspector (6:00am-1:00pm; 1:00pm-9:00pm) (hiring 8, 4 each shift, w/$93.00--$102.00 stipend)
