Hi Jimmy,
Although PCBG,Inc. submitted the proper permit applications for the September 27th date, the City of Boston Event's Dept. determined that regarding the large number of September Events in Boston that an Event Permit would not be issued to the annual Allston Village Street Fair Festival. Where I was informed that the Honan 5K Race and the A-B Parade were permitted,
I did challenge the Event Committee's decision and requested that the AVSF Festival also be allowed. The Committee said no.
 
I then contacted the Mayor's Office and Councilor Ciommo's Office for assistance, as well as contacting Representatives Honan and Moran, and Senator Brownsberger for support. PCBG/AVSF supporters also contacted the Mayor's Office, etc., with support statements and letters which assisted everyone's efforts to secure an AVSF Event Date.
 
John Laadt secured the option of an October event date before he left his position.
I chose October 4th, in the hopes of guaranteeing decent weather.
Councilor Ciommo's Office has been supporting and assisting the AVSF Festival through the lengthy Permitting process, which has been a tremendous help. And we're very grateful to Councilor Ciommo and his Staff for their assistance.
 
Hopefully, everything will be back to normal next year. Until then, the 9th annual Allston Village Street Fair Festival is happening on Sunday, October 4th from 12:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. on Harvard Ave. in Allston. It's Fun and It's FREE!
