[Brighton Main Streets]

Hi friends & neighbors,

As some of you may know, Brighton Main Streets is a small, grassroots organization with one employee. We rely on volunteers and committees to get our work done! 

Let me know if you would like to be notified of one-off volunteer opportunities such as event set up/breakdown, landscaping (cleanups & plantings), direct mail envelope stuffing, and the like. These events include a small amount of mindless manual labor and a lot of laughs!

Here are our upcoming committee open houses. You can meet current members in a small group environment and learn more about their work.

Economic Development 

THIS THURSDAY, February 15, 6:30 pm

Athan's Bakery, 407 Washington St, Brighton

• Examples of Economic Development committee projects include:
• Learning about the district’s current economic condition and identifying opportunities for market growth;
• Strengthening existing businesses and recruiting new ones;
• Finding new uses for vacancies

Fundraising & Resource Development

Thursday, February 22, 6:30 pm

Athan's Bakery, 407 Washington St, Brighton

• Examples of Fundraising & Resource Development committee projects include:
• Raising money from donations and sponsorships
• Recruiting and managing interns & volunteers

Public Space & Beautification

Wednesday, February 28, 6:30 pm

Presentation School Foundation Community Center (lower level), 640 Washington Street, Brighton

• Examples of Public Space & Beautification projects include:
  
• Direct grants to businesses to improve their storefronts and signage
• Streetscape improvements such as murals, lightpole banners, wayfinding signage, planters, etc
• Landscaping the traffic islands in the district

Events, Marketing and Promotions Committee

Thursday, March 1, 6:30 pm

Athan's Bakery, 407 Washington St, Brighton

• Examples of Events, Marketing and Promotions projects include:
  
• Promotional campaigns including graphics, social media posts, postcards and flyers for all our events
• Encouraging Brighton residents to support local businesses and promoting Brighton as a destination
