Fellow Democrats:

I hope everyone had a relaxing thanksgiving.  As we begin to reflect on last month’s Presidential election and chart a path forward, the Boston Ward 21 Democratic Committee will be meeting next week on Monday, December 12 from 6:30PM-7:45PM at the Brighton Branch of the BPL, 40 Academy Hill Rd, Brighton, MA 02135.   The main purpose of this meeting will be to discuss the election outcome, chart a path forward, and focus on interests (both political and local community issues) for future meetings.

We are still in the process of coordinating with the Boston Ward 22 Democratic Committee for a joint ward social event.  We anticipate that this will include an appearance by Mayor Martin Walsh as well as other elected officials in February or March 2017.  As soon as we get more details, we will send you an update.

Lastly, the Ward 21 Democratic Committee is participating in the Annual Allston-Brighton Holiday Party and Toy Drive on December 18, 2016 from 1-4PM at the Corrib Pub & Restaurant, 396 Market Street, Brighton, MA 02135.  We welcome all to join and participate.  Please see the attached flyer.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely yours,

With the recent addition of Brentwood St., my corner of Lower Allston
now has entire empty streets of 24-hour resident-only parking, but
anyone who has visitors (friends) must ask them to drive around for half
an hour to find a space.

Is there any precedent or method for getting this ridiculous situation
rolled back? A few spots of visitor parking on each block? Limited-hour
resident parking? GUEST PERMITS, like Somerville and Cambridge?

In addition to the concern about guest parking, parents of Gardner Pilot Academy students without Allston/Brighton stickers have no place to park when dropping off or picking up their children.  This is causing safety and communication issues.  Some guest spots in this area would be very welcome both during school hours and evenings/weekends for neighborhood guests.
