Violinst Michi Wiancko, conductor Gary Schneider and the Orchestra for the Next Century will give the east coast premiere of Margaret Brouwer’s highly acclaimed Violin Concerto on April 30th. Steven Ritter of Fanfare Magazine described the concerto as “simply a marvel to hear, combining phenomenally difficult solo passages with some of the most ingratiating melodies I have heard in a recent composition.” Ms. Wiancko’s performance of the work on its world premiere with CityMusic Cleveland was praised as “shimmering” by Donald Rosenberg of The Plain Dealer.
