Managed to snag a code.

The first five to use this code get the SDCC reward crate with the exclusive speeder and other random stuff in it.

And just a PSA if you go roaming the interwebs for codes (or this thread) -

Codes that start with swtor.com/user/, are more likely valid and for the cantina event crates.

Codes that start with swtor.com/r/, are referral codes and click bait for people seeking free SWTOR rewards from your accidental click.

Referral codes are a generally OK thing, and we may use them as we approach Fallen Empire. But if you use them before you actually want to return to playing, you could be rewarding some random player instead of a guild mate. If you want to return to the game, just let us know and we can offer referral links from actual guild members to help each other out.

And lastly, in general, please use your normal hyperlink safety instincts and know-how.

It's an error message reading "This community event code is not valid".
