Could anyone here, that has had a Kogswell PR, provide any insight as to which crankset/ bottom bracket combinations work well?

I am currently building one up and want to make sure that I order something that clears the chainstays the first time around.

At the moment I am thinking about either an IRD Touring Triple, or something from Sugino.

thanks,
Chris

I've got two of them. One has an XTR M900 triple with, I believe, a
103mm Phil bottom bracket. The other one has a Shimano double, 39/53,
with whatever Shimano cartridge bottom bracket came with the crankset
when I bought it on ebay.

The P/R's chainline and chainstays are not too far from the norm, so it's really a matter of matching the crankset to the appropriately length bottom bracket. I also have two P/Rs (1 gen-2 and 1 gen-3, both 650b 59cm), i have used sugino XD-2 triple with 107, 110, and 113mm JIS bottom brackets. I also used Sugino AT triple with 127mm bottom bracket. On the gen-3 I am currently using Shimano Deore MT-60 triple crankset with 122mm JIS bottom bracket.

Sorry I can't help you with the question Chris but I have a new one I was going to build and then thought I'd sell but beings how Steve and Franklyn each have two I'm second guessing the sell idea.

Franklyn,

Are you saying that if he chooses a BB to achieve the recommended chain line, he should be fine as far as chainstay clearance goes?

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to order an IRD Touring Triple and a 122mm bb.
