A decision was made that the map needed to be in manual mode.  So I have a button to toggle between the map and the hud.

My problem is that switching from HUD to MAP can sometimes leave the POI visible over the map.

This usually occurs when I move the device in a vertical position.

Once that happens the underlying map is impossible to reach and interact with.

Any suggestions?

Is 3darMapMode set to "manual" in your 3dar.plist?

Try hiding the SM3DARController's view too when you hide the map:

mapView.sm3dar.view.hidden = YES

Thanks will give it a shot.

Also detail view with POI require the special method?

I ask since when they are over the map my code fires.  But when over the camera they don't.

Does that Yorient sample code behave as expected?

Not for me the details indicators are displayed on the POI but do not fire into any detail view.

Ok.  Did another recompile and yes I can get the callouts to fire in Yorient.  I will dig farther.

Ok.  Found the interaction problem.  HUD view had gotten user interaction turned on.  This caused the problems.
