Why not? Autorotation really sucks, it's awful! Any time you panned to a
detail to watch it closely it moves away again. Please implement, and
please make the decision permanent!

I'd accept first-time-autorotation, but once the user interacted it
should be switched off!

360cities get worse and worse!

Please see discussion on facebook: http://tinyurl.com/nluwdku

I think it should be possible to script krpano such that the panorama
starts with auto rotation but does not start again once the user
interacted with the panorama. That would both satisfy those who think
auto rotation is needed to show novice users there is more to see and
experienced users who don't want to be patronized.

Alternatively I'd be happy with a switch in the right click menu, which
permanently disables auto rotation on my computer.

Please implement!

Hi Erik,

Autorotation is going to be turned off.

Why do you think 360Cities is getting worse? I'd like to hear your opinion.  We are adding new features for photographers, like Google Analytics, .csv file or licensing royalties history. Now, all photographers can make proposals on http://support.360cities.net/.

Regards,
Elena

Many thanks! What a relieve...

Scroll wheel zooming for example (which still requires shift key
pressed), or the unresolved zooming problems in the edit section.
But the worst of all: 360cities panoramas don't get much attention any
more.

This doesn't seem to be a good place. The GUI is confusing - I found no
possibility to view all postings. Or are "4 ideas" all there is? If not
so, the reported issues and asked questions go into some nirvana without
the possibility for other community members to answer. The bug tracker
is rudimentary.

No, this mailing list / forum is the far better place. Stick to it.

Hi Erik,

- What do you mean with this "360cities panoramas don't get much attention any
more"?

- Feedback and Online HelpDesk: You can find more info here:

You can check all the ideas proposed by the photographers: http://support.360cities.net/forums/283414-general There is a dropdown menu where you can check all the ideas by their status: planned, started, completed or declined. There, other users can comment or vote for other people's ideas.
- You can also ask questions or report issues: with this new tool we can better handle all the requests, reports from the photographers and we answer them within 24 hours.

Of course, we check the forum and the forum is not going to be closed. But we'd like all photographers use the Feedback and Online HelpDesk for reporting bugs and suggest new ideas so we can keep track of them easily and we avoid any of them will get lost.

Regards,
Elena

The number of views gets less and less. See also:

on the other hand, other services seem to get much more attention:

It's nice to have a voting system for ideas. But having a total of only
4 ideas in 8 month doesn't indicate a good acceptance.

Ok, but those aren't displayed anywhere, so I can't see whether an issue
was reported already or comment on it, like in a proper bug tracker.

The traffic on 360Cities is not getting less and less, actually the traffic and our audience is growing. We are not trying to compete with Google, the proposition that 360Cities offers can be found here: https://www.360cities.net/about

It's nice to have a voting system for ideas. But having a total of only

11 ideas have been asked. 5 of them are completed, which means they have been developed: list of not selected panoramas, Analytics, Annotations, .csv list of panoramas with metadata info, and North mark in the compass. 3 of them are planned: Improve HDM support, Sets for PRO users, and Variable Statistics Time Scale. Finally, 3 ideas were declined: Add settings to VR option, Virtual Tour system, and give information when a panorama is not selected.

Usually, when a photographer asks a question or reports an issue via our Feedback and Help Desk Support tool the user is reporting or asking a personal stuff that it is not related to other people. Whenever we find a general bug or we need to make an announcement, we announce it to all photographers via: account messages, post on the forum, blog post...

We are constantly thinking about how to improve our communication with all of you.

Elena

This might be true for 360cities in total. However, the traffic we can
see on single panoramas gets less (see previously provided links). This
might be due to the fact that the total number of panoramas is growing
faster than the over all traffic. Some published statistics would help
to clarify this.

Ok, so one doesn't see all ideas with no status filter selected. This is
uncommon (and part of what I meant with a confusing GUI).

And where go the issues and questions entered on this page? I found no
way to browse them, no user answers possible.

BTW.: Zooming in the edit section (Heading, Viewpoint and Annotations)
is still not possible.

And the worst of all: The wikipedia ban since many years...

Hi Erik,

You can check all the ideas here: http://support.360cities.net/forums/283414-general There is a drop down menu where you can select which ideas you want to be displayed by their status: planned, completed or declined.

BTW, I've just sent you an email.

Regards,
Elena
