Write to Sen. John McCain and tell him you support his proposal to allow
the big ISPs to control ALL internet traffic. Paradoxically called the
Internet Freedom Act, meant to cripple the efforts of the net neutrality
movement which seeks to disallow ISPs from doing exactly what you
describe, plus slowing down traffic to websites that aren't in the ISPs
financial best interests.

Call up and complain, I did, it worked. (this was with the P.O.S
Wireways). I had a program running that while harmless to the server
was seen as a P2P program (Xfire).
Get your speed and just have a shopping list.
and again - Encryption of the packets.

Encryption wont work if ports are blocked by default?
Agreed. Ive never had limewire, kazaa, napster, Emule, Gnutella,BearShare etc
on my computers.
Streaming audio means you never have to save anything. Shoutcast is where its
at.
Don't try to pin that on me...

Not for torrents. AFAIK, thats 9000. At least thats the default port in
'Transmission'...which runs on *nix,mac,BeOS.
And thats totally blocked.
Oh well, fuck it.

Apparently you can get "good karma" if you let the app seed for a while
after youve downloaded your file.
Interesting. Rewarding co=operation and punishing selfishness.
Malware being a big issue on the file sharing internets.
Current article on /. about some dipshit gubmint helper that lost some
documents to a p2p situation. Guess he didnt know how to SHARE ONLY ONE FOLDER.
Sounds a bit goddamned socialist, if you ask me. I'll bet that obammy guy
does that sorta thing.

Interesting. From what Ive read its the '*.torrent' file that announces
the availability of the actual file thats shared. I tried looking at a
*.torrent file with a text editor but it didnt reveal much...
Intellectual Property is a deep subject, fer sure.

Unless they host that server, they can't block it at that server.

Interestin. That is not the "torrent port". Default is, I think 6190, or the
like. But my client allows a custom configuration, and I have it at 18679,
or something around there.

But not "at the server", unless the server is hosted by the blocking ISP.

It wasnt.
Yeah. I completed my task. Next time I wanna do som light reading I'll
go on the transmission forum and look at the readmees.
