Hillsboro road race

Dear New Mexico cyclist, racers, and friends, 

I'm riding to send out my apologies related it to the Hillsboro road race.

 There were quite a few barriers to get the race together in a timely manner.. I could point out the barriers and use those as explanations. In the end, the biggest challenge was getting the permit started earlier because I was unaware of some of the potential challenges with the permitting changes. 

We are already reassessing and are planning on doing the Hillsboro road race on Saturday October 3rd. You're also looking at adding a fondo event on Sunday, October 4th (start in Hillsboro over the mountain down to San Lorenzo and back to Hillsboro)

I know many were planning on this event and I too was thinking the barriers would not be this challenging. I've learned from this experience to be ready to go with the road race and hopefully the state championship at the same event. 

I am working with our race registration in. If you pay to participate, we will arrange return of the funds or credit for the race in October.

Sounds like a great plan Dave.  I would be happy to help on the Saturday race and then ride the Fondo on Sunday.  This will fit nicely into other events here in NM - Gila Monster Fondo on the October 11th and the Dusty Roadrunner Gravel Series Quebradas Desert Kraken gravel ride on November 8th just north of Socorro.
