Vmware vSphere and Ubuntu server 18.04

Hi all,

I purchased an Aruba Cloud pro that it has Vmware vSphere and Ubuntu server 18.04 as services, all based on a virtual machine that I cannot manage, but there is the possibility to import and export virtual machines in .vmdk format. 

I tried to install the new version of z-tree unleashed by following the procedure indicated on the website, but it doesn't work. 

Is there a path to install z-tree on Vmware vSphere?

Hi Stefano,

You could try to rename zTu.ova to zTu.tar. Then, install 7-zip and extract zTu.tar. This should give you a file called zTu-disk001.vmdk. Perhaps you can use this file.

Thank you for your suggestions. 

I uploaded the file zTu-disk001.vmdk on the Vmware vSphere.

Now we have a problem. 

How do we can run or open the virtual box on the Virtual disk (WMWare)?

Hi Max,

I have been able to install the ztree unleashed on VMware sphere as I show in the first two screenshot that I uploaded.

However, Now when I tried to start session, there is a red flag: "FAILED to stop nginx.service: Unit nginx. service not loaded.

cat: /share/wg_thin_ip: No such file or directory

ping: :Name or service not know.

It is worth noting that during the installation that i did following your web site this package has not worked: "apt install git wine wine32 wireguard ssl-cert nginx psmisc sudo tmux"

I show you in the last screenshot what machine has written during that process.

Please let us know what we have to do.

Hi Stefano,

I don't understand what you did. This seems like you followed the "server" installation method using Ubuntu oder Debian. But as far as I understood you, you wanted to install the VM image (which already has all packages preinstalled)?

Hi Max,

We followed two ways:

1) We uploaded the file zTu-disk001.vmdk on the Vmware vSphere Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS 64bit.

However we had a problem. 

We were not able to run or open the zTu-disk001.vmdk on the Virtual disk (WMWare)

Here what do we have to do?

Hi Max,
I ran different experiments on z-Tree unleashed by using our virtual server and everything was going well, but I have a new problem now.
I always used to run and write ztree codes with version 3.4.7 (my first version on ztree) and everything works in the experimental lab or on my pc by using (multiple leafs.bat).
However, when I downloaded my code written with version 3.4.7 in our virtual server and z-Tree unleashed (version 4.1.11 installed) the code do not start and it wrote me: 1) bad character, 2) syntax error, 3) error program and item programm, how I show you in screenshots attached below.
Do we have to download the 3.4.7 version of ztree and zleafs on our virtual server?
Please let me know what I have to do.

I also downloaded version 3.4.7, the program starts with this version, but this is the result on the leafs, but It does not work.

Hi Max,
Lately doing virtual experiments, when I have to write in a box, the following cases happen to me
1) does not make me write
2) does not make me write the numbers
3) writes the PC without us being able to write the number 0 or 1;
and I have to force Ztree unleashed to "leave stage".
What can you do?
