Code-signing and the ywriter installer

3 years ago I paid US$200 for a code signing certificate which I use to sign the yWriter installer, so it doesn't come up with 'unknown/untrusted when you run it.

I just got the renewal notice and it's now gone up to US$600 for the 3 years.

Needless to day I'm not paying that, so this is just a heads-up that yWriter's installer will go back to being Unsigned later this month. There's always the Zip version that can be downloaded and unpacked into a folder too, if you prefer that method.

Just saw this, which is pretty major news re dotnet/ywriter/linux.  What it means is that if I update and maintain yWriter8 for dotnet 6, it should just run natively on Ubuntu Linux.  (I've just finished moving my OS and apps to a slightly newer machine, and I also set up a Ubuntu partition at the same time for testing)

I'm still using Winforms (it does say that libgtk needs to be installed for that)
