"His existence blessed Nigeria, the African continent, and the world." (TF)

I can't agree more. I recall one of his old student, the late Thomas Shick, an African American and professor of history and African American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the mid-1980s, once told me of the profound influence of Professor Ekechi on his life. He said were it not for Professor Felix Ekechi, his unflinching love for history, Africa, Africans, Nigeria and Nigerians would never have existed. That, to me, is a legacy that would pass the test of time.

May we all be comforted!
