lacerated by whirling winds,

yet standing motionless,

stock-still,

bathed by the cool beams of the moon,

she was content to hide her head under a particle of dust,

to show that she was fully satisfied

.

*vlm.5. She was content with covering her head under the particles of dust, and did not like to change her state for a better fortune. (i. e. She preferred her poverty to high dignity).

*AS.The AB commentary explains this. There was a single dust particle which was on her head covering it completely. By not giving enough room for another, she was making her satisfaction (kRtArthatAm) apparent.

*vlm.3. Now and then, she inhaled the hot air with her open mouth, and then breathed it out, as her heart could not contain the repeated influx of air.
