Gaining administrator access to an administrator-less instance

Hello,

We are using XNAT (build 1.8.1) at our research centre, but it was set up a while ago and the administrator left (also a while ago). No one seems to have administrator access anymore, and said administrator is no longer contactable. There are no notes or institutional knowledge about how it was set up so I am not even sure where our repository is.

Does anyone have any guidance or help as to how I could make myself an administrator? The system is in dire need of an update and maintenance.
