Thanks for asking! Sorry, I have been busy lately, and haven't gotten a chance to respond.
Basically, if I were you, I would build from the repo source. The pypi package is likely broken.
Unfortunately, I do not have yhe the bandwidth to fix it. However I would accept any PR that did.
What xdress really needs right now is a champion...
I hope this helps. I am hoping to get more direct support for this in the future.

I have an apple laptop running OS/X yosemite and a fedora linux machine and I would very much like some help getting the installation of xdress going. I would like to use this tool to automate binding generation for my software library. I posted this note on github issues, which has not yet seen a reply. I've seen similar posts around, it seems like the pip installs are broken.. Perhaps I can help diagnose the problem, but, I can't seem to make any traction.
