Hi Dr. Putzel,

My name is Micah Melling, and I am working with a group of alumni from the University of Central Missouri to start a non-profit to preserve the XB manual. With your retirement, we want to ensure the manual remains widely available and inexpensive.

I have a favor to ask: would you please forward this message to the XB Listserv to help spread the word about our efforts? We would sincerely appreciate your help.

People interested in supporting the XB non-profit can donate at the following link: https://www.gofundme.com/preserve-the-xb-manual

All of the donations will be applied to the legal fees needed to start the 501c3.

If you or anyone else has questions, feel free to reach out to me directly. We are excited about making this happen!

Best,
Micah

Hello XB'ers - Just a little context for the email message below:

This is not a 'money making' or 'business building' venture - rather, we are trying to raise $1500 to cover the legal fees to create a not-for-profit 'container' that will allow us to make materials for XB, and for classroom-as-organization (CAO) materials widely available.

There is a small group of us working to revise the manual and create a number of resources that will make it easier for teachers interested in adopting XB/CAO to do so. We want to avoid the situation that any one of our universities could claim copyright of these materials and so want to vest the ownership of them in a not-for-profit.

If you have any questions about the above, please do respond here as they will help us clarify the intention to everyone.

be well
Stacie
