Hi, some basic hints can be found here:
I am unsure if there is other official documentation on this.
What do you want to achieve?
Best, Zoltan

Hi  Zoltan,

Thank you for prompt response, your time, and work.

If you have a sec, could I ask couple more questions. I just installed on Windows 10 precompiled xaos-4.3.3, start to enjoy this amazing tool, and want use not only GUI, but for automating purposes, mainly command line Xaos functionality (I mean without GUI).

If I am not mistaken, the real formulas for Xaos are defined in the source formulas.cpp. How in command level print the real formulas (not just its name) of specific demo or tutorial file?

How in command level change the formulas without recompiling?

Certainly, I can edit in advance any ".xaf", ".xhf", ".xpf' text files if it is necessary for the purpose.

If it is not too much, could I ask you just provide the examples of the commands?

By any chance, do you know any tutorials where Xaos command line functionality described with the most details available so far?

Thanks a lot.

The best regards,

-Joseph

Joseph, thanks for your email.
The only way to enter a user formula is
Example:

In fact, most menu commands are available via command line, and the command line interface reflects also mostly the commands that are available in the .xpf, .xaf and .xhf files. For the above example, this is the required command line (I haven't tried it on Windows, only on Linux, by removing the ".exe"):

xaos.exe -user -usrform '(abs(re(z))+i*abs(im(z)))^2+c' -outcoloring 0 -view 0 0 5 5

Hope this helps.
Best, Zoltan
