Hi Don,
If you set the "Device manufacturer" (found in WoAD in the Session settings under "TNC configuration", "Device initialization") to Generic then WoAD assumes that the radio is configured correctly to act as a KISS TNC. Setting the "Device manufacturer" and "Device model" to VGC and VR-N76 respectively will allow WoAD to try and configure the radio appropriately. In particular WoAD will check "Enable KISS TNC" (General Settings... KISS TNC...) and uncheck "Digital Mode" (General Settings...) on the radio, before starting a session. If you're going to use the Generic configuration in WoAD make sure you have manually done the same on the radio before starting a session.
Another common "gotcha" when using WoAD with the VR-N76 (or equivalent) is when another program already has a Bluetooth connection to the radio. The radio will accept only one Bluetooth connection at a time. Make sure that any other app or program (running on any other device) that may have a Bluetooth connection to the radio has been terminated before starting the WoAD session.
Hope that helps,
Andrew
