The long running Rankin-Bass specials “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman” move to NBC next month.

I assume the "special 75-minute edition" just means that it'll be the original unedited cut, with 15 minutes more commercials than there were in 1964.

Was the "No(r)elco" commercial associated with this?  Somehow I always thought of
them together....

P.S. Wasn't there some animation mentioning sponsors in the original Charlie Brown Christmas?
Dolly Madison comes to mind, but I may be misremembering....

Yes, there was animation involving the Coca-Cola logo built into the opening titles and closing credits of "A Charlie Brown Christmas," which was cut out after the first couple years of broadcasts. Once you know what you're looking for, the cuts are very noticeable, particularly in the opening (in the current version, you never see where Linus ends up after Snoopy grabs his blanket and tosses him across the ice). I'm sure there are a variety of legal issues that would be involved with trying to restore the Coca-Cola version.

Thanks for the tip!  Somehow, I didn't remember that "peppermint" line at the end.  Could it have
something to do with the fact that they aired it in a 1:15 slot this time, instead of an hour?

Just watching it now. The peppermint scene was the only addition I noticed.
