I'm actually in the San Fernando Valley, so I was closer to the epicenter than the List Mom. I can confirm that it jolted me awake. I can further confirm that my cat, who was lying at the foot of my bed, did not detect the earthquake -- and in fact, didn't do anything until the shaking was over and she realized I was awake, when she got up and walked toward my face to try to get some attention.

It wasn't enough to wake me up on the other side of the hill. Had I been awake, I probably would have thought a truck was doing an early morning speedrun right outside my apartment. It happens.
