You know, until I started watching the reruns of the show (I had
caught some of it way back, why yes, I'm ancient..) I had never
know the provenance of that song...

The paragraph about “Wheel of Fortune” contains bad info. The Byrnes-hosted pilot was in 1974, and his replacement as host when it went to series, premiering at the beginning of 1975, was Chuck Woolery. (Pat Sajak replaced Woolery at the very end of 1981.)
