Apparently, current anchors Andrew Dymburt and Mona Kosa Abdi have recorded clues which will
appear in the first day of the semifinal games of the Jeopardy! National College Championship (this
Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022).  Enjoy....

BTW, does anyone know how they're going to do the finals?  It appears that 36 students, representing
as many schools, were in the quarterfinals.  And so 12 students go on to the semifinals.  But
if you have four games there, that results in four students in the finals.  Has Jeopardy! ever
had FOUR contestants at a time, in any of its formats?  Thanks for any info.

P.S.  That guy today probably doesn't use a ThighMaster -- He *IS* the Thigh Master! ;-)

The three semifinalists with the highest winning totals will appear in the finals. The fourth will be saved for a forthcoming "Second Chance Tournament," for which they will also invite the best/most memorable contestants from the past season who didn't make it into the Tournament of Champions.

The "Super Jeopardy!" tournament that aired on ABC in the summer of 1990 had four contestants in each of the quarterfinal matches. Here's the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jA5NPg6WsJs

Of course, that should have been Mona KOSAR Abdi in my previous message.  Mea culpa!

This whole deal is driving us crazy 'cuz:

a: here in Southeastern MI, the "regular", so
to speak, Jeopardy! feed is at 7:30 pm, following
Wheel of Fortune. Unlike the rest of the civilized
world, where Jeopardy! comes first [1]

b: and also, unlike most of the civilized world,
Jeopardy is NOT carried on the local NBC Blue
Network affiliate (or even, in some parts,
an O&O!), but is broadcast on NBC Red, namely
Detroit station WDIV. (Guess what "channel"
that's on, eh?)

c: however, the "College Championship" is
carried on WZYZ, which is, yes, an ABC affiliate.

Oh, and for more craziness, the standard program
these weeks is being hosted by Ken Jennings, while
the College tournament has that shill for some
memory fake-aid or another.

[1] Well, at least this week, when NBC is
broadcasting the Olympics starting at 7:30 pm,
they've been accomodating us by moving Jeopardy!
to the proper 7 pm slot, and, well, I guess
transporting Wheel into the "out there", or something.

Typo, of course, for WXYZ

This isn't even the first time this has been an issue in recent years -- there were a couple "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" special events that aired on ABC prime-time while the syndicated series was airing on various channels in various markets.

(Back in the 20th century, this was more common with the network daytime version versus the "evening" syndicated version. One notable example is "Family Feud," which was airing in ABC daytime while the biggest local station group airing the syndicated run was the NBC owned-and-operated stations.)

And then there were the similar shows which had both "first run"
episodes, as well as years' old reruns, which... had slighlty
different names.

The one I recall was "Gunsmoke" vs. "The Penderosa" (or
at least I think I remember that..)

Also "Emergency" vs. "Emergency One". Or something.

Maybe.

Confirming that this just aired (Thurs eve).

The clues all concerned events that occurred
way before any of the current players were born,
and some before their great, great, grandparents.

I got four of the five...

(One referred to the stabbing of
a member of President Lincoln's inner circle.
I remembered the Cabinet position, but
not his name).
