Not seeing any other confirmation, but per Barry Mitchell on Facebook, David Bohrman has passed away.

TV news institution David Bohrman died today. He was a leader at CNN, ABC,
NBC, CBS, and Current TV - producing election nights, overseeing
debates, pioneering new tech for news coverage, and mentoring generations
of journalists. CNN's memo about his passing:

Mr. Bohrman will be missed.  He won't be around for next year's big WNN odometer-flipping birthday of _32_!
(Well, if you have a BINARY odometer...)

There's a NYC based gazzilionaire who's
expressed interest:

https://barrettnewsmedia.com/2023/06/23/dominic-carter-if-you-think-wabc-is-successful-imagine-what-john-catsimatidis-could-do-with-cnn/

disclosyre: He's an acquaintance who treated me
to a seat at NYC's "Inner Circle" performance
a decade ago.

(It's a yearly spoof/satire of NYC political figures
put on by City Hall based reporters. And their pals.)

Anderson Cooper did a lovely tribute to Bohrman tonight, including clips from WNN and News Night. I forgot what a baby face he was… hopefully there’s a shareable clip somewhere.

I just checked my DVR and lo and behold, Bakersfield’s ABC23 is a Good Affiliate now! Two hours recorded last night including WNN’s tribute, which included Anchor God and Todays Newspapers. plus the 25th anniversary interview with Bohrman and appearance with Lisa McRee in which the birth of the Polka is retold. It’s dusty in here now…

Anderson's tribute reminded me of an aphorism (there's a variant through Walter Lippman, but it's originally from Ancient Greece, apparently):

"A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit"

I'm thinking David Bohrman was ALWAYS such a man...

Or, of course, Yogi Berra's:

"Go to your friends' funerals so they'll
go to yours".
