One day somewhere in the 1990s, I was hosting the "KFBK Saturday Morning News" in Sacramento, when one of our regular listeners, who lived in the Sierra foothills, called to very kindly give us more information on a story we did before that commercial break.

He was as nice as he could be, and let us know that he listened every Saturday and appreciated what we did.

Yes, that was Robert Conrad. 

By that time, he was more known for daring people to knock a battery off his shoulder, but I will always remember that morning.
